Having owned his own business for 10 years he decided to embark on a 5 year part time course to become a surveyor. Steve has over 10 years experience as a surveyor in the public and private sectors within commercial, health, industrial and education sectors.
Steve has strong customer service skills and aims to provide the best possible service to his clients as possible whilst being realistic with their expectations.
Steve has experience in various skills within the construction industry and if he does not have the knowledge or skills required he has a network of colleagues that he can recommend.
We are both fully qualified with a combined industry experience of over 50 years. Our experience ranges over a variety of projects, in both commercial and residential sectors

Colin has over 40 years experience in the construction industry.
Colin has acted in the role of CDM Coordinator from the onset of the regulations in 1995 and incorporated the role in the design, administration and procurement of new buildings, restoration and renovation of existing buildings including schools, local authority, diocesan and Church Commissioners property stock across the Home Counties.
From 2015 he has acted as Principle Designer on new construction projects, major renovations and additions to existing structures and restoration works to listed buildings.

The main thing that impressed me personally the most was the fact that you gave us a precise time that your surveyor would be at the property. I cannot tell you how frustrated we get on an almost daily basis when we are told by a surveying company that they can only give us a window of between 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm. This means we have to blank out either the entire morning or afternoon which is hardly conducive to running a business!!
I was also very impressed when Steve Platten offered to return my clients house key back to me once he had finished as I had meetings to attend and couldn’t wait around.

Steve was very responsive and emailed me late in the evening to say how he would look into my request the following day explaining he had been out of the office all day. I impressed as he didn’t need to explain any delays!
On receipt of the survey the information contained was precise, easy to understand and followed up with relevant photographs to give me a visual idea of any potential building issues.
